Hondo Eisuke

A transfer student from Ran's class is a fan of Kogoro and comes to meet him. He is very clumsy, wears glasses and looks a lot like Mizunashi Rena. His name is Hondo Eisuke.

There's nothing suspicious about him except that he looks like Rena and that he seems to watch Conan closely sometimes.

Meanwhile Rena is still unconscious. And all her information seems to be a lie, even her name. Mizunashi Rena in Japanese can be turned into the numbers "007".

Hondo continues to show more resemblances to Rena as he gets involved with an other case with Kogoro. And while on a bridge in the middle of an investigation. he cries as he leans on the railing. Then Hondo asks Kogoro about cases he solved for famous people in secret that didn't make it to the news as if he's trying to get some piece of information secretly.

Then a conversation is heard between Gin and others about Kir getting their Boss' trust. They talk about a rat sneaking into the organization and Kir having them cornered. But instead got tortured but didn't spill any information. Gin then says that Rena eventually shot and killed that "rat".
Gin says that they have a focus for finding Rena, and that it's currently being investigated.
The last name of that "rat" is "Hondo"

Hondo Eisuke brings an other case to Kogoro. They get involved and it brings them to a house of a murdered woman who's son is the boy that ran out in front of Rena's bike causing her to crash.

Conan later figures out from what he reads on a Mizunashi Rena fan page that the man who was hired to do some strange job (the event that Eisuke brings to Kogoro and they first start to investigate before meeting the boy) is a fan of Mizunashi Rena and was wearing a jacket with her picture on it. He was spotted by the boy who told him that he saw that woman "Rena" in a bike accident. Eisuke likely read that same page and that's why he brought the case to Kogoro. He wanted to talk to that kid because he's looking for Rena's whereabouts.

But, Conan doesn't believe he is with the men in black who are also searching for her, because of his(Eisuke)  personality and emotions he showed in previous cases.

Mizunashi Rena

Okino Yoko introduces Kogoro to a friend of hers who is a TV announcer (Mizunashi Rena) and has a case for him. (It is later on that we learn her real motive for hiring Mouri, which she tells him later in an email, is really to keep a certain someone safe) In the case Conan places a tracking device and wire tap inside cum and sticks it outside her door, but after the case forgets to retrieve it. When he runs back to get it he can hear the gum com unstuck and fall on the ground, the Rena steps on and it's stuck to her shoe. The Rena makes a phone call, and Conan can hear that she's calling the number for the syndicate's boss.

Conan calls Agasa and he and Haibara come and they tail Rena and listen to her conversation. She ends up going to meet Gin and Vodka. Vermouth is also there and two new members are introduced. Two snipers named Chianti and Korn. Though Chianti seems to not like Vermouth at all. They are planning and assassination using Rena to distract the target (a politician) with a television interview. Rena's code name is Kir.

Conan runs into Jodie, and he and Jodie eventually stop the assassination, forcing the black organization to come up with a new plan. And although Kir seems to be with the syndicate, she talks to Conan and doesn't seem to be a bad person. Based on what she says, Conan starts to think now that she can see through his acting (that she can tell he's not there just by coincidence. And Conan starts to consider her real identity)

Akai found out about the situation with Conan's wire tap etc. and disappears for a little while (he is taking precautions against Gin at that point).

The black organization now plans to use Vermouth on a motorcycle to stop the targets car and Kir will kill him. But then Kir asks Vermouth where her(Kir's) bike is. Also, Vermouth knocks on her bike and asks if Kir is "like this"(She is saying are you a NOC? At this point Vermouth seems to know who Rena really is).

And at this point, Vermouth knows that Conan is trying to stop them.

Meanwhile, Conan has Agasa bring Ran and Kogoro to his house for their protection, but Kogoro later goes back home without telling them.

Conan, James Black, and Jodie stop who they think is Vermouth but turns out to be Rena. She crashes her bike when a young kid walks into the street.

Rena changed her clothes when she got on the bike, so her shoe with the tracker and wire tap are in Gins car. He discovers them and suspects it was put there by Mouri Kogoro since he was at her house the night before, and so Gin, Vodka, Chianti, Korn, and Vermouth all head the the Mouri detective agency.

Mouri just happens to be listening to horse races on the radio and Gin thinks he's listening to the wire tap. Also, he thinks Kogoro is involved with Sherry.

Conan gets Kogoro to move out of the way and exposes that he is only listening to horse races. So Kogoro is completely clueless about what's going on, but Conan saves him. However, Gin has the tracker with Conan's prints on it, but suddenly it gets shot out of his hand. Akai had set up nearby with a sniper. Akai shoots at them and Gin then assumes the tracker was planted by the FBI and leaves Kogoro and Conan alone and flees. But Gin still has slight suspicions about Kogoro.

They are then trying to find Kir who the assume was taken in by the FBI. Mizunashi Rena is kept secretly in a hospital where they are waiting for her to recover in order to question her. She is currently unconscious.

The Phone Number of the Syndicate's Boss

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOgRevdiLnU

Conan is on a case and the criminal makes a phone call. This for some reason reminds him of when vermouth sent the message to her boss. Then detective Yamamura makes a call to his grand mother in Tottori. Both the call the criminal made and Yamamura made are to places in Tottori with the same area code "0858". When those numbers are dialed it sounds the same as when Vermouth entered her boss' address. So, "0858" is the first four digits of the black organization's boss' phone number.

After a case dealing with a man the has perfect pitch Conan finds out that the tone of those numbers "0858" being dialed is the same as "Nanatsu no ko" or "Seven Children" a Japanese children's song. This is so that the members of the black organization can remember the number without ever writing it down or saving it in their phone.

So after analyzing the tones that the keys will produce, Conan is able to come up with a more accurate number "#969#6261" That's the number Conan says belongs to the boss of the syndicate.

Rapping up the confrontation with Vermouth

Conan now knows that code name Vermouth from the black organization is Chris Vineyard, and that Chris vineyard and her mom Sharon Vineyard are the same person.

(This is only my personal speculation. I think it obviously has to do with Vermouth taking either APTX 4869 or possibly an other drug, maybe with APTX 4869 being the prototype. With Sharon having told the story about Chris showing up at the grave of her late husband, disguised as him, it seems like maybe Chris and Sharon both existed at one time, but then Sharon died but Chris took her place for a little while. Or, Sharon got old, then used a drug to become young, and so had no choice but to pretend to be her own daughter and say that her mother died. Though none of these options can be confirmed at this point.)

Ran and Sonoko (and Conan, Haibara, and Agasa) know that Jodie is an FBI agent. She convinces Ran and Sonoko that she is just in Japan on vacation though, and that the night of the incident she was going to say goodbye to Conan and Haibara when she saw them get kidnapped. So she followed the kidnappers, had a shoot out, and the kidnappers fled.

Ran got in Jodie's trunk after she got suspicious form the photos she saw. But she says she put them behind her mirror because a Japanese friend of hers said it was strange to have the photos sitting out all over her house. Sonoko and Ran remember that in America, people often have pictures of family and friends sitting on their desks, etc.

The FBI is targeting Vermouth but don't know her true intentions. So, they gave the Japanese police a similar kidnapping story to cover the events.

Conan removes all the wiretaps in Agasa's house and goes around town disguised as Haibara and doesn't see anybody following him. And, with Vermouth saying she'll give up on Haibara. Conan believes they are safe for now.

Also we now know that for some reason the black organization wants Akai Shuichi dead. (The purpose of Chris disguising as a slasher in New York. They thought if it was just an ordinary criminal, that Shuichi would lower his guard.) But while we know that Jodie is after Vermouth to avenge her father's death and finish his investigation, we don't really know why Shuichi has a personal reason to go after Vermouth. If may be related to him cutting his hair (or maybe not. I'm again only guessing).

The FBI offers to put Haibara in the witness protection program but in the end because of something Ayumi says, Haibara decides not to because she doesn't want to run from the syndicate anymore.

Araide moves back. He was told by Jodie that someone disguised themselves as him to commit a crime, but the criminal had blown their cover and fled so it was safe for him and his family to return from America. The criminal wouldn't try the same trick twice and an other doctor already took a job at a hospital in Aomori where Araide was going to go work. So, Araide returns to being the schools doctor.

Conan, Haibara, Ran, and the FBI confront Vermouth/Sharon/Chris

Mouri Kogoro receives an invitation to a Halloween mystery costume party. Ran is scared of monsters and ghosts so she doesn't go. But Kogoro goes with Sonoko. Conan keeps it a secret from Ran that he(Shinichi) also got an invitation. On his envelope it is addressed to Kudo Shinichi, but in the letter inside it is to Edogawa Conan. The letter is from Vermouth and it is written in English letters. At this point Conan already suspected foreign actress Chris Vineyard as being involved with the organization, and so he suspects that she might be Vermouth. But either way he knows that she knows his and Haibara's true identity. He also suspects that the house is bugged so when he gets a text he tells Agasa to be quiet. It's a text from Hattori. Conan is asking him to go to the party in his place because he thinks they are trying to lure him out and away from Haibara and so he is staying behind at Agasa's. But, Conan suspects that someone has been in his house lately and so he must check that out too.

Vermouth is on the guest list of the Halloween party so Vodka is sent to see what she's up to.

Then Conan goes to check out his house. That's when he finds out that the one who's been staying there is his mom, because she's been worried about him and wanted to keep an eye on him. She disguises Conan as Haibara, Hattori as Kudo, and gives herself a disguise. They locked Haibara in Agasa's basement. Then Conan waited upstairs as Haibara. And Kudo's mom and Hattori went to the party.

Araide(Vermouth) calls and says he wants to check up on Haibara's cold, and that he'll come pick her(Conan) up. But Jodie shows up first and convinces him to go with her. And Araide follows them.

While in the car Conan as Haibara asks Jodie to do him a favor. This is to find out if Araide really is Vermouth. He tells Jodie about the Araide murder case, and asks her to try and lure her out.
Jodie stops the car at a harbor and gets out. Araide also gets out and she confronts him. She asks him about the upcoming trial that he'll have to testify at and about him covering up for Hiraku. But because only three people, Araide being one of them, knew what really happened, Vermouth, who only learned about the case from the files she stole from the metropolitan police department, didn't know the truth, so Conan could be sure that he wasn't really Araide, and was actually Vermouth. Then Jodie reveals that Chris Vineyard a.k.a Vermouth is her father's killer and "A secret makes a woman, woman" is the last thing she said to her(Jodie) when she was a child.

Jodie's father had been working on a file about Vermouth in secret with the FBI. So Vermouth killed him and burnt down the house. Jodie went down the street to get some juice to make her father feel better so she survived. Then her dad's colleagues put her into the witness protection program. It is revealed that she is also an FBI agent. She followed her dads investigation to pursue Vermouth.

They knew Vermouth was planning to kill Araide and take his place because she was repeatedly spotted going to his clinic even though she wasn't sick. So, the FBI preemptively made Araide and his family move to America and faked a car crash making it seem like he had died. Then they let Vermouth cover it up (as she thought it was a real crash) and then pose as Araide. When Jodie broke into the clinic after hours she found the dart board with the photos and knew she was on a mission to assassinate the woman in the photo(Sherry). Jodie questions about if Haibara is really the woman in the photo(Sherry), and also questions about Ran and Conan. She also asks why Vermouth never ages.

Vermouth/Chris Vineyard attended her mother's funeral and made the comment to the press "A secret makes a woman, woman" and so Jodie was suspicious of her. She tested her finger prints to those from the glasses that Chris picked up at the scene of Jodie's father's murder 20 years before and they matched. But Chris is too young to have been there that night. That's when Jodie cross-references her prints with their files and realized that Chris Vineyard and her mother are the same person.

That's why Chris Vineyard/ Vermouth protected Conan and called Ran Angel. It's because she was saved by them in New York, when she was Sharon, posed as the serial killer. Also, Sharon is long time friends with Kudo's mom so she knows what Kudo looked like as a kid and so figured out Conan's true identity and has been trying to keep him out of everything.

Vermouth stole all Mouri's files and not just those related to Araide, so that they wouldn't know which ones she really wanted, and would make it seem like Mouri was her target and could lure the FBI out.

Haibara shows up, having broken out and tracked Conan with his spare homing glasses. Conan is distracted and Vermouth turns his tranquilizer watch on him and knocks him out. Haibara came to let Vermouth kill her and end everything, but ran protects her. She was suspicious of Jodie when she say the pictures, and after her dad left for the party she went to talk to Jodie but ended up hiding in her trunk. When she heard gun shots she jumped out and protected Haibara. Vermouth/Sharon/Chris couldn't shoot Ran. Ran and Haibara pass out from shock. Akai shows up with a gun to help Jodie. Calvados kills himself and Vermouth escapes with Conan in her car and shoots and blows up Jodie's, preventing her and Akai from chasing her.

In the woods Vermouth sends a message to the syndicates boss. She notices that Conan recorded it and goes to destroy it but Conan tells her that it's hooked up to a heart monitor, and if the transmitting stops, the recording will be emailed to the police and he also tells her he send the data to a nearby friend (Dr.Agasa).

Out of options Vermouth knocks him out with sleeping gas. If she wakes up first she'll escape and if he wakes up first he'll capture her.

It's revealed that Vermouth was disguised as a serial killer to get Akai to let his guard down so that she could kill him in New York last year. It's also revealed that Gin doesn't remember Kudo Shinichi, but when asked about him Vermouth covers for him. She asks Gin to come pick her up. She woke up first, destroyed Conan's equipment and fled. Agasa came to Conan when his heart rate monitor stopped, but he was obviously fine, he just lost the data.

But Conan remembers the sound of the number Vermouth dialed when she sent the message to her boss.

Also, Vermouth agreed to give up on Sherry.

Ran and Sonoko go to Jodie's Apartment

Jodie announces that she will be leaving the school for personal reasons. And Ran and Sonoko want to have a going away party for here at her apartment. The stop at a convenience store and get involved with a case. The whole time Jodie is having flashbacks to an event in her childhood. Later Sonoko and Ran have the party with Jodie at her apartment. When ran goes into the bathroom she notices a picture sticking out from behind the mirror. She opens the cupboard and finds many pictures of Shinichi, Conan, herself, and some others.

At this point in the story, everything has been set up for the next big reveal to bring things together.

Vermouth Moves Closer

When the junior detective league go with Conan and his mom to an advanced screening of a movie Conan notices that they are being tailed by a suspicious car that he thinks may be someone from the syndicate. In the end they lose site of Conan and the others and are shown reporting Akai Shuichi, who has a picture of Haibara Ai, and say "How strange. The girl looks so much like her" He is referring to the picture on Vermouth's dart board of Sherry as an adult. Because of the missing files related to Mouri's cases, and because Conan and Ran's pictures are also on the dart board they are investigating, but they still don't quite know the connection between Haibara and the woman on the dart board (which is also Haibara/Sherry).

Haibara develops a cold and when Agasa and Conan take her to a department store to see a doctor they run into Jodie who is having lunch with Ran and Sonoko. Jodie sees Haibara and starts to wonder if she could be the girl from the dart board.

Conan get's involved with a case. But, Agasa is able to leave with Haibara to head back home to meet with Dr.Araide so he can help with Haibara's cold. Jodie gives them a ride and goes with them. Also, Shuichi is listening in from outside.

Later, Vermouth is shown saying that she's found Sherry and is coming for her. She is of course disguised as Dr.Araide and so now knows that Haibara is staying at Agasa's house.

Vermouth has now set up bugs in Agasa's house and is listening in on their conversations. Haibara, Agasa and Conan go to visit one of Dr.Miyano(Haibara's father)'s old friends. They get involved with a case, but they find some hidden tapes that Haibara's sister hid there a long time ago. They are tapes to Haibara from her mother(a foreigner, probably American. Miyano Elena).

At the end of the case Vermouth is seen picking up someone at the airport names "Calvados".

Another Encounter with the Black Organization

Conan considers those that he has met that were involved with the black organization.
Gin, Vodka, Miyano Akemi (Haibara's sister), Tequila (died in an explosion at a game event), Pisco (killed by Gin), Numabuchi Kiichiro (He escaped from the syndicates secret laboratories and was arrested by the police in an unrelated case. Conan met him twice. Once at a case in Osaka with Hattori (Vol.19). And again when he escaped from the police in an on-site investigation(Vol.35). The junior detective league just happened to run into him in the woods in Gunma while looking for Mitsuhiko. The Syndicate took an interest in Numabuchi's agility. They wanted to train him to be an assassin. But he disappointed them so his medical information was sent to Haibara so he could be used as a guinea pig for the drug. But he ran before they tested it on him. He only knew of the very outer workings of the syndicate so there was never a threat that he might talk to the police.) . And lastly, Haibara Ai, code name Sherry. Pisco called Haibara "Shiho" so that with her sister's name means her real name is probably Miyano Shiho.

The men in black have acquired huge amounts of money through high level assassinations, they've developed strange new drugs, and they seem interested in recruiting skilled computer programmers.

As Conan thinks about that, that's when Ran takes a call from a client for Kogoro. Some game developers want to track down a missing programmer. They track him down to a hotel room but he's already dead. Because it seems that the programmer had contact with Tequila, Conan wants to find out more about him. He acquires his digital diary and plans to read it at Agasa's. But while walking home with Ran, they encounter Akai Shuichi. That's when Ran tells Conan about when they met in New York and that he was wearing a jacket with FBI on it.

After reading the programmer's diary Conan and Agasa find out that he was being pressured to finish some secret program. But he said he wouldn't do it for the sake of humanity. They find out that he left the program and money at his vacation home. Then he accepted the jobs from the game companies in an attempt to get money to flee by his dead line. At the end of the journal it said that the woman he talked to on the phone said "you could say we're of both god and the devil since we're trying to raise the dead against the stream of time."

Conan receives a new gadget from Agasa. A belt that can instantly produce a soccer ball for Conan to kick with his super shoes.

Conan and Agasa go to the vacation home to get the software and to check out an email that the black organization is supposed to send to him later that night.

They fail to open the email because of a password, and then they get a call from Vodka. Conan talks to him on the phone in the programmer's voice. They are to meet at the lowest level of Kenbashi station at 4 AM.

Conan tapes the disk with the software in the specified locker in an attempt to get Vodka's finger prints on the tape. He also put a transmitter on the inside of the case. But Gin shows up and identifies all those things and realizes (Conan, who they think is the programmer) must still be in the station. They look for him but they don't look where he's hiding, in one of the lockers, since they expect an adult who wouldn't be able to fit there.

So, Conan is able to escape.

Ran and Kudo's encounter in New York

Ran develops a fever and as she starts to have more and more flashbacks of a long haired man(Akai Shuichi) she then has a dream of her trip with Kudo and his mom a year ago to New York (right after Kudo's first case on the plane).

There they meet his mom's friend Sharon Vineyard. An actress who is a master of disguise. She and Kudo's mom studied under a famous Japanese magician the art of disguise for a film role. (That magician is the father of Kaito Kid, a character from an other Aoyama Gosho comic who also makes some appearances in Detective Conan) .

Sharon says that on the day of her screen debut both her parents died in a fire and her husband died the day after she won her Oscar. And that when she was placing flowers on her husbands grave her daughter Chris showed up disguised perfectly as him(As far as I've read, that hasn't been important, but it may be in the future, related to Sharon's death etc.)

On their way back to their hotel in a taxi after a case, Ran drops a handkerchief out the window and she and Kudo stop to look for it. There is a long haired Japanese killer on the loose and that's when Ran encounters the long haired Akai Shuichi. But it turns out that Akai is actually the one searching for the Killer, not the killer himself (it is made to seem like he is with the police or something).

Meanwhile, Kudo had gone into an abandoned building to get Ran's handkerchief that had flown up and stuck on a fire escape. Ran goes in to look for him and that's when they encounter the real killer. A long haired Japanese man with silver hair. The man falls off the fire escape but Ran and Kudo grab on and save him. When he asks why Kudo says "Do you need a reason for that? I hate trying to figure out why people kill. But you don't need a logical reason to save someone do you?" For various reasons Kudo let's the criminal go.

Kudo's mom is talking on the phone with Sharon. She says Kudo called the cops but the man shot himself by time they got there. Then Sharon tells her to tell Ran that she seems to have a guardian angel too.

As it turns out Sharon was disguised as the slasher. She probably shot the slasher then disguised herself as him for what ever reason and that's when she encountered Kudo and Ran. That is also connected to Chris Vineyard calling Ran "Angel" and Conan "Cool Guy".

It's also revealed that Akai Shuichi is with the FBI.

James Black, The missing files and Conan's Suspicion of Chris Vineyard

In a later case the Junior Detective League meets a foreigner named James Black. He's an Englishman who gets kidnapped when he's mistaken for a celebrity.

At the end of the case it is revealed that he was called to Japan by Akai Shuichi. He talks about Akai cutting his long hair. Then Shuichi talks about his sweet heart rejecting him and that he'll make her pay. It seems he's talking about Vermouth.

Ran begins to remember seeing Akai Shuichi somewhere before. And Shuichi is shown outside Mouri's detective agency as if he's investigating there.

Then Vermouth's dartboard is revealed with pictures of Conan Ran and Sherry. On Conan's picture "Cool Guy" is written, and on Ran's "Angel" is written. And she throws a dart at Sherry's which is covered with an "X" showing she is her target.

Conan finds out from Takagi that all the files connected to Mouri Kogoro went missing from the metropolitan  police department. Conan thinks they may have been stolen by the Men in Black. He thinks it may be a trap to lure him out  because whoever stole them, sent them back to the police in a sealed envelope.

Also, Conan suspects that one of the other suspects at the Haido Hotel case was also a member of the black organization, because they would have had to be there to give Pisco their handkerchief. He suspects Chris Vineyard because right after the incident, she went into hiding and announced her hiatus from work. She is the daughter of Sharon Vineyard. Conan says "she is the most suspicious...I don't wanna believe it though" This is because his mom is friends with Sharon Vineyard.

Conan then asks Agasa to investigate a Chris Vineyard fan site to get information on her.

After a case at Jodie's apartment, Conan and Hattori are suspicious of Jodie hiding something in her apartment. That is her pictures of Conan and the others she has behind her mirror in her bathroom. Conan also refers to two other people he has to check out. That is probably Akai and Araide.

Jodie Saintemillion and Akai Shuichi

Next, Conan meets Ran's new English teacher Jodie Saintemillion. She doesn't seem to be very significant, but at the end of the case she calls Conan "Cool Guy".

Then she talks on the phone about finding one of her targets with a "new look" and giving them the code name "rotten apple".

She is talking about her target Vermouth/Chris Vineyard. Her "new look" is because she is disguised as Dr. Araide. And she calls Conan "Cool Guy" because she saw that written on a picture Vermouth has attached to her dart board.

Then, Vermouth is talking to Gin. She says she hasn't located her primary target yet. But when asked who her target is she says  "it's that touch of mystery that gives a woman her allure".  However, her target is Haibara/Sherry.

Later while the detective league is on a bus on their way to a skiing trip, Jodie and Dr. Araide enter the bus. They just happened to meet at the bus stop. Haibara gets a chilling sensation that she gets when she's around people from the syndicate. That's because Araide is Vermouth. Akai Shuichi (Jodie's partner) is also on the bus.

The bus is high jacked and when Conan gets a gun pointed at him, Araide(Vermouth) steps in front of him to save him. At this point, Vermouth knows Conan's true identity.

After the high jacking case is closed, Shuichi is recording himself. He says "The target did not appear. I'll resume my investigation later." It's assumed his target is the same as Jodie's.

Conan and Haibara's encounter with the Black Organization at Haido City Hotel

While walking home from school one day Conan and Haibara come across a black Porsche 356A parked  on the side of the rode. Haibara reveals that it's Gin's car. Conan and Haibara breaks in and places a homing device and a bug, so they follow behind and listen in doc's car.

Conan hears Gin talking to Pisco about a murder, then Gin finds the homing device and wire tap, along with one of Haibara's hairs, so he assumes she put the devices in the car.

Conan makes his way to Haido City Hotel where the assassination is supposed to take place. He intends to stop it, and to also get the APTX 4869 which he believes Pisco may have on him.

The it is revealed though a phone call Gin makes that he will also make his way to the hotel with the intention of killing Sherry. Also, he refers to APTX 4869 as "Prototype detective". This is because in Japanese 4869 can be read as "shi ya ro ku" which is similar to "Sherlock". And, before settling on "Sherlock Holmes" Conan Doyle's original name for him was "Shelling Ford", in other words the "prototype detective".

At the hotel a politician is murdered. Among the suspects are Masuyama Kenzo (Pisco) and American Actress Chris Vineyard. During a panic in the crowd, Haibara and Conan get separated and Haibara is abducted by Pisco and locked in a wine cellar in a wing of the hotel that's under construction.

Fearing death, Haibara tells Conan that Apotoxin(APTX) 4869 stands for "Apoptosis" or "Programmed cell death". Each cell has a "sell-destruct" mechanism. Cells receive a signal that restrains it. But, the drug induces the cell to commit suicide, and triggers increased Telomerase activity (a process involved with the protection of DNA and RNA during reproduction). Haibara attempts to download the data on APTX 4869 from a computer left in the room by Pisco, but Haibara had drank Baigar in order to revert to her normal size and escape through the chimney and she started to change. Also, that's right when Gin and Vodka showed up, finding her location with a tracking device in the laptop Haibara was using.

Haibara makes her way to the rooftop but is confronted by Gin and Vodka. Gin shoots her in the arms and leg but just as he's about to kill her Conan shoots Gin with a sleeping dart and tells Haibara to run, using his voice changing bow tie. Haibara escapes back down the chimney, as Gin shoots his arm to stop the tranquilizer dart.

Haibara falls back down in front of Pisco, but she and Conan escape through a fire that Conan starts. Pisco is then killed by Gin. Gin says it's an order from their "boss". Gin escapes through the chimney.

Pisco wasn't caught by the police because the police were looking for someone missing a handkerchief related to the murder at the hotel, but after Chris Vineyard was questioned she gave Pisco her's. She was called there to provide back up for Pisco. Chris Vineyard is called "Vermouth" while sitting in the back of Gin's car, and she says she will be staying in Japan in order to clear a few things up.

Dr. Araide

The next large thing to be revealed takes place a year prior to current events.
Kudo Shinichi's first case is revealed to have taken place on an airplane. It is a flight to L.A to visit Kudo's parents, but when they arrived Kudo's mom had plane tickets to New York where Kudo and Ran get involved involved in an other important case.

Back at present time, while at a doctor's office for a check up, Kogoro, Ran and Conan are invited to stay for dinner. That's when they meet the doctor's son Araide Tomoaki. He is also a doctor but has been coaching the basketball team at Teitan high while the coach is out with an injury

That night his father is found killed after a power outage, in the bath tub. He was killed by electric shock from a razor being put in the bath tub. The trick was set up by Tomoaki's step mother but the housekeeper Hikaru unknowingly flipped the breaker switch that turned on the power that killed Yoshiteru (Tomoaki's father). So to protect Hikaru, they tell the police, upon Kogoro(Conan)'s suggestion, that she drugged her husband, put him in the tub with the razor, and attached it to a timer, and that the murder occurred at a slightly earlier time. But with out them realizing it Tomoaki was just outside the room where Kogoro was making his deductions and so aside from inspector Takagi, Kogoro, and the murderer herself, he is the only one that knows how his father was truly killed.

Conan Meets Haibara

At Teitan Elementary where Conan has been attending while he has been shrunk a new student named Haibara Ai transfers to Conan's class and instantly seems to want to be near Conan. The Junior Detective league (a detective group that Conan formed with three of his class mates he met at Teitan Elementary) attempts to make friends with Haibara, and when asked her address she says its Beika District 2 Number 22. He doesn't realize it at the time but that is Dr. Agasa's address.

They ask Haibara to join their detective league and that's when they also happen to get involved with a case.
It's a kidnapping case involving a woman in black and Conan suspects she may be involved with the syndicate. However that case ends with the kidnappers having nothing to do with the syndicate. But on the walk home Haibara reveals that she was the one who created the poison that shrunk Kudo under orders from the syndicate, and that its name is APTX 4869. The shrinking of the body while leaving the nervous system unaffected is an unexpected side effect. Her code name is Sherry, and she knows Conan's true identity.

Once they return to Agasa's house, Conan is filled in on the rest. Haibara ingested the same poison as Conan. Agasa took Haibara in when he found her collapsed in front of Kudo's house. She says that the syndicate investigated Kudo twice, because of the people administered the drug Kudo's was the only death unconfirmed. As the creator of the poison, Haibara/Sherry accompanied the investigation. Everything seemed abandoned, but a month later they checked again, and this time she noticed that Kudo's childhood clothes that had been there a month earlier were then gone. During an experiment on lab mice one of the mice reverted to an immature state instead of dying, so Sherry assumed that Kudo Shinichi was given APTX 4869 and reverted to a child. Because she was interested in him and didn't want the syndicate to kill him, she listed his death as confirmed.

But Sherry betrayed the syndicate partly because the tested the poison on humans and also because they killed her sister (Miyano Akemi). She refused to continue work on APTX 4869, so they locked her in a room in her lab. She figured she'd be killed anyway so in an attempt to kill herself she ingested a capsule of APTX 4869. She became small, so she escaped through a garbage chute and with no where to go made her way towards Kudo's house.

She says that the drug wasn't meant to be a poison. And when Conan wants her to make an antidote she says that all her data is at the syndicate's lab, but the lab was destroyed three days prior (Probably in case Haibara talked).

Conan agrees that it's ok if Haibara stays with Agasa. Haibara also reveals that her parents were with the syndicate but died in an "accident" when she was young, and that the syndicate sent her to study abroad in America.

In the past Haibara accidentally sent some of her data to her sister with some disks of unrelated vacation photos of her sister's. And those ended up at her sisters old professor's house. They get involved with a case at the professors house but in the end are able to find the lost disk of data, but a virus is activated if the disk is opened on a computer not belonging to the syndicate. So, all the data on the disk is lost, and Haibara is now staying with Agasa.

The Code Names and Objective of the Syndicate Starts to Emerge.

Conan starts going to elementary school and Agasa develops some super shoes for him. Since he's good at soccer he will be able to make good use of them when catching criminals. They supercharge the muscles in  his feet to allow him to kick things extremely hard.

A few cases later Kogoro is hired by a girl to find her father that went missing. It turns out that she and two other men where the criminals in a billion yen robbery, and she actually hired Kogoro to find the man because he escaped with the money.

Conan follows her to a harbor where it is revealed that she is really Miyano Akemi, who is part of the syndicate with the men in black. She committed the robbery with the other two, in the hopes of being able to leave the syndicate with her sister. But the men in black refuse to let them go. He says that her sister is one of the greatest minds in the syndicate. That's when he pulls a gun on Akemi and shoots her. They disappear as Conan comes to Akemi's side. She states that the members of the syndicate are fond of wearing black as if they're ravens. But can't give anymore information about them than that before she dies. (Her sister, parents and "boyfriend" at this time, later have a large connection to the investigation)

Conan later encounters the men in black on a bullet train. There is a reference to "their boss".

Conan uses a listening device that is hidden in his glasses to listen to the men in black's conversation. They escape the train but Conan learns their code names "Gin" and "Vodka".

Later at a game developers even Conan gets involved with an other case and this time coincidentally an other member of the syndicate, code name "Tequila", is also involved, but he gets killed after the transaction. Conan learns that he had been meeting with a programmer at a bar called the "cocktail" on the top floor of the Daikoku building in Beika.  However, just as Conan arrives to investigate, a bomb goes off and completely obliterates the bar. The men in black offered a huge sum of money for a list of the most talented computer programmers throughout the world. But that's all the information that emerged from the case.

Kudo Becomes Conan and Moves in with Ran

Kudo makes his way home and encounters his neighbor Dr.Hiroshi Agasa (An inventor/Scientist). He convinces him that he really is Kudo Shinichi who was made small by some poison given to him by some men in black. He decides that he must try to get his hands on that poison so that Agasa can make an antidote. But, Agasa tells Kudo that he must keep his identity a secret so because if those men find out that Kudo is still alive his life, and the lives of those around him could be in danger.

At that point Ran shows up looking for Kudo because she was worried about him, and hasn't been able to get a hold of him. Conan quickly puts on a pair of his dad's old glasses as a disguise and when Ran asks his name he creates Edogawa Conan (from mystery authors Edogawa Ranpo, and Arthur Conan Doyle).

Since it might be suspicious if he is always coming and going from Kudo's house right after he supposedly dies, and since Ran's dad is a private detective and he might be able to use that to get more information on the whereabouts of the men in black, Kudo decides to stay with Ran. Agasa tells her that Conan's parents were in an accident and are in the hospital so he was taking care of him but he lives alone and is very busy, so Ran agrees to take Conan with her.

On their walk home, Ran reveals that she really likes Kudo. Immediately after that is when Conan get's involved with his first case with Ran's dad Mouri Kogoro.

Three days pass and Ran is concerned at Kudo's absence from school, but Agasa convinces her that he is just involved with some complicated case and will return soon. Also Agasa develops a voice changer disguised as a bow tie for Kudo to use on his cases.

However, Kogoro isn't a very good detective and doesn't get many cases, so Agasa tells Kudo he needs to work hard behind the scenes to make Kogoro look like a great detective to get more cases so that he has a better chance of finding the men in black.

In the next case, Kudo makes use of the bow tie by knocking out Kogoro and using his voice to reveal his deductions as Kogoro himself. Kogoro, being kind of foolish, and despite not remembering anything, goes along with the praise for his great deductions after he wakes up.

That night, Conan uses the bow tie to call Ran with Kudo's voice and tells her not to worry. That he got pulled into a difficult case and will be back after he solves it.

The Start of Kudo Shinichi's Investigation of the Black Organization.

Kudo Shinichi is a Junior at Teitan High School. He is extremely into detective novels, and his favorite detective is Sherlock Holmes because of his great powers of observation and deductive reasoning. Shinichi is the son of a world renowned mystery author Kudo Yusaku, and actress Kudo Yukiko (Fujimine Yukiko).
He is a fan of soccer and plays in order to develop his physical coordination needed as a detective.
He has become somewhat famous as a high school detective who helps the Japanese police on difficult cases.
He is childhood friends with daughter of detective Mouri Kogoro and Lawyer Kisaki Eri, Mouri Ran (captain of the Karate club at school). Kudo promises Ran that he will take her to an Amusement park (Tropical Land) if she wins the city karate tournament.

While in line for a roller coaster Kudo displays his powers of deduction and it's hinted that Kudo has deeper feelings for ran than just friends.

After they get on the roller coaster there is a murder, and Kudo helps the police find the killer. The suspects include the passengers on the roller coaster. That case is wrapped up, but as Kudo and Ran are leaving, Kudo notices on of the suspects who was on the roller coaster (who was with a partner, dressed all in black) acting suspiciously, so Kudo follows him and tells Ran to go on home.

It is revealed that he is meeting with some company president to collect money from black mail over that man's company's involvement in gun smuggling. The company president references that the man in black's syndicate commits much worse crimes than his company has.

While absorbed in watching this transaction, Kudo fails to notice the other man in black sneaking up behind him. He hits Kudo in the head with a pipe. They want to keep him quiet but can't use guns since the amusement park is still full of cops from the murder case, so they give him a poison that their syndicate is working on that is supposed to be undetectable in an autopsy, but it has never been used on humans.

They leave Kudo to die. But, after Kudo looses consciousness for a short time, he awakens to some police who have discovered him. That's when it's revealed that Kudo's body has shrunken to a child.

Welcome to my Detective Conan Blog

The purpose of this blog is to help clearly display the major events that occur in Detective Conan that progress the overall plot concerning Conan v.s The Black Organization. This will not be in chronological order, rather, it will display the events and information as revealed in the series.

The series is still ongoing, and I will only update this every so often, so for now, this will not be completely up to date, but will hopefully soon catch up.

The overall plot and character relationships in Detective Conan can be very complex and can take some time to completely understand, due to the fact that many hints as to character identities and pieces of information that are used are hinted at very vaguely and then explained much later, or some things that explain current events that actually happened in the past aren't explained until later on. This creates dynamic and interesting story aches and is great for a detective series, especially if the reader is trying to deduce what will happen next; it creates great mystery. But like I said, the events are sometimes spaced very far apart, so this blog hopes to condense those major plot points to make something quick and easy to understand, and is aimed at those who have read the series and would like a sort of recap of what they read/saw.

Please enjoy.
